FLANAGAN, CHRISTINA O
[br][br]Christina Odele (Mack) Flanagan, devoted wife and mother of 2, died at the age of 32 years old on May 19, 2016 in Spokane, Washington.
She is survived by her husband, Jeremy Flanagan and children Harmony and Elias; parents David and Julia Mack; siblings Anita Lanning and Kendra Kennedy; grandparents Clarence and Bernice Mack; grandmother Beverly Wehling. She is preceded in death by her grandfather Richard Wehling.
Christina was born in Peoria, Illinois on November 13, 1983 to David and Julia Mack. She graduated from the University of Illinois in 2007 with a degree in Kinesiology. On October 2, 2010, she married Jeremy W Flanagan. On December 29, 2011 and September 23, 2013 respectively, God gifted her with two beautiful children Harmony and Elias Flanagan, who were the most important part of her life.
Christina was a devoted wife, mother, daughter and woman of God. She enjoyed playing with her children and sharing the word of God with others. Christina's journey in her faith really caught fire when she joined Cornerstone Church in Januray 2009. Here, she turned her focus away from worldly distractions and towards serving her Heavenly Father. Christina's faith in God was unwavering even when all odds were against her. She was a leader in her church and mentor for many young adults starting their journey with Christ. She will be deeply missed by family, friends and all of those who knew her.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 22 at the Cornerstone Church 21326 E Mission Ave in Spokane. Pastor Rick Mayo will officiate.

Shirley Dean Margaret Walter Wilhelmi passed away January 6, 2016 at her care facility near her daughter in North Idaho. She was born in Bonners Ferry Idaho April 20, 1928 to Guy and Olive Walter, went to school in Eastport Idaho and graduated from North Central High School in Spokane. She met her husband Virgil H. Wilhelmi while working for Northwest Airlines. They were married in Spokane in 1948. They moved with their 2 children to Santa Fe, Albuquerque, Kennewick, Walla Walla, Bellevue, and finally Tacoma where Shirley was preceded in death by Virgil in 1978. She is survived by her close companion of 34 years Don Christensen of Gig Harbor Washington, her son Guy of Tacoma Washington, her daughter Jan of Hayden Lake Idaho, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, and her sister Alta of Spokane. No service is being held, she has joined the family at Fairmount Memorial in Spokane.

BROWN, RICHARD "DICK" E.
[br][br]Richard E. Brown passed away peacefully on May 18, 2016. He was born on May 13, 1923 to Emmett R. Brown and Eula McCabe Brown on a farm in southern Iowa.
Dick attended high school in Seymour, Iowa and for a short time, Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois before enlisting in the Navy during World War II. His talent and love for woodworking started here. He was stationed in the Marshall Islands and worked as a machinist for landing crafts.
Dick returned to Iowa and married Norma Eule Long in 1948. They moved to California before coming to Spokane in 1950. Dick enjoyed a successful career in construction and founded Warner and Brown Construction, followed by Brown Building Materials in 1958.
Dick was a vital member of the Spokane community. He was driven by an innate sense of fairness, integrity and generosity. He was an active member of the Spokane Scottish Rite Free Masons and El Katif Shriners which he found extremely rewarding, made a lasting impression on all and established a wonderful group of friends. Dick volunteered nearly 5,000 hours at Spokane Shriners Hospital. He recently presented a generous donation for the hospital's EOS Imaging Suite. Devoted to institutions that meant a great deal to him, Dick dontated over 36 gallons of blood to the Inland Northwest Blood Center. He served on the Board of Directors for Spokane School District 81 as well as Deaconess Hospital. Dick was also a past president of the Inland Northwest Associated General Contractors of America.
He was the proud and loving father of three sons; Ron (Judy), Eric (Lisa), and Norm (Bernadette) and two grandsons, Jared and Trevor. Dick is also survived by his "older sister" Virginia Sales and numerous nieces and nephews. Dick is preceded in death by his wife Norma.
A special thank you to Touchmark on South Hill for all the loving and caring support.
Family and friends can celebrate Dick's life of June 6, 2016 at Touchmark on South Hill, 2929 S. Waterford Dr., Spokane, WA at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children - Spokane or Inland Northwest Honor Flight.

[br][br]C. Floyd Boltjes passed away quietly April 23, 2016 surrounded by family in Spokane, Washington.
Floyd was born in Sterling, Nebraska on May 21, 1924, the fifth of seven children to John and Dessie Boltjes.
He married Florence Nelson in December of 1952. Florence preceded him in death four years ago after 59 years of marriage.
Floyd is survived by his younger sister Gayle, of Eckley, Colorado, five children Gregory Boltjes and his wife Connie of Spokane, Washington, Bradley Boltjes and his wife Chris of Phoenix, Arizona, Kristi Verity and her husband Wayne of Aurora, Colorado, Kendall Stuckey of Maple Valley, Washington, and Sharon Howell and husband Ron of Maquoketa Iowa. He was preceded in death by a daughter Marnie in 1955. He has 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
Floyd served in the Army during World War II serving in New Guinea and the Philippine Islands where he received a purple heart. He was one of the soldiers stationed in Honshu, Japan after the Japanese surrender.
Floyd was a heavy equipment operator by trade but a farmer at heart. He always had large gardens which he attended with detail and affection. He enjoyed their home with 10 acres of land near Yakima, Washington where he was able to raise cows and horses along with growing alfalfa to feed them for many years.
Floyd was an avid pool player and played when ever he had a chance. He won several tournaments in the town of Florence Colorado where he and Florence called home for 25 years.
The family would like to thank the Spokane Vetrans home for their care and comfort of Floyd while he was in their care the past 22 months.
The family would like to give a shout out to Dr. Joe McGarry of Florence, Colorado for his care, comfort, and support he provided for both Florence and Floyd along with his moral support and advice to their children.

HALTERMAN, CYNTHIA L
[br][br]Halterman, Cynthia Leah (Age 69) Cynthia Streeter Halterman died unexpectedly April 25th, 2016.
Cynthia was born July 22nd, 1946 in McDonald, OH to Robert and Leah Streeter. She studied liberal arts at Stephens College in Columbia, MO. before attending Ohio State University where she received a B.A. in English/Speech.
Cynthia moved to Tok, AK in 1970 where she met John Halterman. They married in Skagway, AK in 1972 and then made their home in Juneau, AK where their two children were born. Cynthia began work in the Department of Administration of Telecommunications Services, where she helped pioneer the development of statewide television satellite systems. For many additional years she produced and directed educational public programs at the KTOO-FM and TV station.
Cynthia loved Juneau, and the community that she and her family were a part of. She became a true Alaskan gal and was known to chase a bear out of a yard if it was bugging the kids. Even though she and her family moved from Juneau to Seattle in 1992, Cynthia always spoke of Juneau as her true home.
After the birth of her granddaughter in 2004, Cynthia and John relocated to Spokane, Washington. She continued her work in public TV and directed programs for the NorthEast Washington Educational Service District 101 (NEWESD 101), and KSPS Public TV. Her last major projects entailed producing online training programs for the National Institute of Corrections.
Cynthia was best known for her vibrant wit, jovial laugh and wicked sense of humor. Her loss is felt in several communities and we will all miss her greatly.
Cynthia was predeceased her husband by John T. Halterman (2014) as well as her parents. She is survived by her sister Wendy Streeter of Staunton, VA., son and daughter-in-law, Brennan and Annah Sophia Halterman of Seattle, and by daughter and granddaughter, Caitlin Halterman and Isabelle Karst of Spokane.
A Celebration of Life will be held on May 28th 2016, 3pm, in Liberty Lake, WA. at the Fieldhouse Pizza and Pub. Attendees are invited to share stories and memories at this event. We are extremely fortunate in the support we have received during our loss.
