IN REMEMBRANCE: ALICE MARGARET "PEGGY" POWELL (OILAND) APRIL 19, 1918 - FEBRUARY 14, 1991 25 YEARS AGO... Twenty five years ago, on Valentines Day, our family lost someone very close to our hearts...our MOTHER! It seems like yesterday our hearts were broken, but now they have healed! We thought of you with love today, but that is nothing new. We thought about you yesterday and days before that too. We think of you in silence, we often speak your name, now all we have is memories and your picture in a frame! Your memory is our keepsake with which we'll never part. God has you in his keeping, we have you in our heart! We ALL miss you from your children to your grandchildren and also your great grandkids to your great-great grandkids. You are in our hearts daily and there will be a day when we see you again! As we sit here and wonder how things would have turned out, not to have been part of your life was there ever a doubt! We would see you again, just didn't know when. Twenty five years has passed, wondering how you have been. Just to see your face one last time is something we never would have thought, You have been on our minds all this time, something that we have always and never forget. The lessons that we learned from you, made each day more pleasant, your teachings of everyday life were such a warm and needed present. We know now you have been safe in his arms, no more pain or suffering, away from all harm. Rest with the angels, until we all will see you once more. WE love and have missed you, things we will always adore. Watch over us always, for one day it will come! When we are laughing and talking and having Oh so much fun. We miss you mom, but we are glad that you made it home, we wouldn't have wanted it any other way even if it meant for us to be alone! FROM ALL OF US... You Children: BARBARA RIZZUTO, MARIE GRONNEBEK, DAVID OILAND (DEC.), KATHLEEN SCHULTZ, MICHAEL OILAND. Your Grand Children: JEFF RIZZUTO, JENA RIZZUTO, JERRY RIZZUTO AND JOSEPH RIZZUTO MICHELLE GRONNEBEK, RICK GRONNEBEK AND STACI GRONNEBEK. HEIDI STEINBERG, JANIS OILAND(DEC.), ANDREW OILAND. Lucy's sister Vivian preceded her in death. Lucy spent her childhood in Walla Walla County, a farm girl at heart with a great love of horses. Lucy enjoyed and excelled in athletics, particularly competitive swimming and hurdling events. She graduated from Prescott High School in 1960. Lucy adored her beloved grandmother Grace Rambow with whom she lived periodically during her youth. Deeply moved by her grandmother's kindness, Lucy strove throughout her life to emulate her grandmother's example of selfless service. Lucy married and began a beautiful family in her early twenties. She is survived by four of her children—Rebecca Loos of Spokane WA, Sean Taylor (Kathryn) of Naugatuck CT, Curtis McFeron (Brenda) of Yelm WA, and Rhonda McFeron of Spokane WA. After retiring, Lucy often could be found camping and four-wheeling with her husband Mike who passed away in 2005. She enjoyed reading legal thrillers and doing crossword puzzles. Lucy harbored a great love of animals in her heart and doted on her beloved dogs and cats throughout the years. Although finding just the right words to express her love was sometimes challenging for Lucy, her life was characterized by loving impulses and generous deeds. She was the kind of person who made sure no one ever left her home hungry and was quick to offer kind assistance to others with the little details of life. Lucy was always happiest when she could be of service to others. Those wishing to share memories or condolences are encouraged visit www.legacy.com and sign Lucy's online guestbook.
