MALONE, LOLA W
[br][br]Lola Wallitner Malone, 91, died peacefully on Christmas morning at her home in Anacortes, Washington after a short illness.
Lola was born to Leo Wallitner and Margaret Wallitner. Raised in Port Angeles, Washington by her loving parents, she attended Port Angeles High School and later worked as a secretary for the FBI in Seattle and Honolulu and at Continental Can in San Francisco. In later life, Lola gave much of her time to volunteer work in her community especially enjoying her time at C.O.P.S. in the Spokane Shadle area. Throughout her life Lola took great delight in making delicious things in the kitchen for her family and friends. Lola had many special treats in her recipe books and cards saved to make for those she cherished.
Lola met and married the love of her life, William G. (Bill) Malone in May, 1963. Their two children, Molly Jane Malone Crom and Lisa Marie Handelin were a great delight for Lola and Bill. The four lived in San Rafael, California until Bill's death in 1970. Lola and her daughters then relocated to Spokane, Washington. In 2015, Lola and her sister Joy joined family members in their move to Anacortes.
Lola is survived by her sister Patricia Joy Nagle, her daughters, Molly and Lisa, and her grandchildren, Amanda, Anthony, Alex, Allison, and Andrew.
She was preceded in death by her parents Leo and Margaret Wallitner, her husband Bill Malone, and her sister Theresa Nadine Sadler.

MAIN, RICHARD F
[br][br]Richard Main was born in Camas, Washington to William and Erma Main. He graduated from Omak High School in 1948. Dick then went on to receive a degree in Forest Engineering from the University of Washington in 1952, that same year entered pilot training in the USAF. Dick was a veteran of the Korean War. He retired from the USAF as a Lt. Col. on April 27th 1987. After retirement Dick and Shirley volunteered as prayer team members at the Healing Rooms, (IAHR) in Spokane, as well as ministering at the Gieger Corrections Center together.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years Shirley (Smith) Main, and his five children, Jeff (Lori) Main, Teresa Main, Stacy (Mike) Palmer, Paul (Renee) Main, and Brian (Ann) Main, his ten grandchildren Brandon, Alexis, Alicia, Austin, Cameron, Melissa, Jordan, Mitch, Bergen, and Mimi, as well as his five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother William W. Main, and many nieces and nephews. His tremendous love for all the people in his life and wonderful hugs will be greatly missed.
Memorial service will be held January 9th at 1:30, Life Center Church, 1202 W. Government Way. Please send donations to www.pva.org in lieu of flowers.

JARRELL, JANET S
Jan went to be with our Lord on December 31, 2015. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was born on March 7, 1940 in Southgate, California to Harlan and Adeline Walker. She married Doug in 1959. They raised a family in Spokane and enjoyed hunting, camping, and boating. Jan had "several" loves. She loved her family and was particularly proud of her children and grandchildren. She took great pride in having a beautiful yard full of flowers each spring/summer. Jan also adored her schnauzers. They became her children after the kids left the house. She was also very active in the Open Bible Church for the last 30 years. She was an avid sports fan. Jan and Doug were season ticket holders for the Spokane Chiefs for nearly 20 years. Jan is preceded in death by her mother, father and son Tony. She is survived by her brother Alan, husband Doug, three children; Jim Jarrell (Helen), Shelley Stickelmeyer (Jeff) and Kim Stolz. Grandchildren; James Jarrell (Kathryn), Schelley Kasner (Jason), Anthony Jarrell, Brandon Stickelmeyer, Jordon, Groce (Brad), Tanner Stolz, Abby Jo Stolz, and her great granddaughter Piper Rae Groce. Pastor Monte LeLaCheur will officiate the celebration of Jan's life which will be held at Turning Point Church, 11911 N. Division Street, Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 1pm.

CLEGG, EDWARD T
[br][br]Edward Terrence (Terry) Clegg, beloved father and grandfather, died peacefully December 29, 2015 with his sons Kevin and Robert by his side.
Terry was born on January 16, 1929 in Nelson, British Columbia. He grew up in Rossland, B.C. where his father and grandfather established the Clegg & Clegg Law Firm. After earning a Bachelor and Master's degrees from the University of British Columbia, Terry held positions as a city planner in Grande Prairie and Edmonton, Alberta and for the City of Spokane, where he retired in 1997.
Terry was an avid outdoorsman and hunter. He treasured time with his family at Deer Park on the Lower Arrow Lakes and skiing on Red Mountain.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Judge Harold and Irene Clegg and brother, Lawrence. He is survived by his son, Kevin (Brynn) Clegg, daughter, Lynda (David) Rypien, son, Robert (Boleyn Relova) Clegg, 7 grandchildren and his former spouse of many years, Gunhild Rosland Clegg.
Special thanks are given to the staff of Expressions at Enumclaw Memory Care and Franciscan Hospice. A private family service will be held at a later date.

[br][br]Norman Dale Belieu, 66, passed away December 31, 2015 at his home in Spokane, WA. He is survived by his sons Kon Belieu and Gary Belieu of Cincinnati, OH, His brothers Jerry Belieu of Maryhill, WA, Jim Belieu of Elk River, ID and his favorite sister Kathryn Henry of Lacey, WA.
Norm was raised in Goldendale, WA and joined the Army after high school. He enjoyed mushroom hunting, fishing, camping, motorcycling and spending time with family and friends. He will be remembered for his teasing jovial personality. We will miss you my brother.

CLARIFICATION
Since the death of Chuck Hennessey in 2011, a rumor has circulated that Hennessey Funeral Homes were purchased by the Mormon Church. We have attempted to stop this untrue rumor, however it continues to surface.
In the year 2000, Hennessey Funeral Homes were purchased by a Company called Carriage Services out of Houston. Each of the funeral homes owned by Carriage is run independently by local managing partners. The managing partner for Hennessey's is Mr. Scott Dahl. A large percentage of the employees who were brought on board while Chuck was with us still remain, including his daughter Susie. Although Chuck is gone, the Hennessey legacy lives on. Hennessey's has been serving all faiths and denominations since 1890.

FENDER, CAROL L
[br][br]Carol passed away in peace and with a smile on her face on Monday, January 4, 2016. She was 73.
Carol grew up in Sandpoint, ID with her parents Elizabeth & Floyd Skeel, and her sister and brother, Shirley and Duane Skeel. After graduating from Sandpoint High School in 1960, she moved to Spokane to attend Kinman Business University. She met Charlie Fender while he was stationed at Fairchild Air Force Base. They were married in April 1961. While traveling with the Air Force, they had two children: Julie and David. Eventually they moved back to Spokane and their third son, Michael, was born in 1968.
Encouraged by her father, Carol learned to play the piano. She played the piano at the First Methodist Church, as well as many events while growing up. In 1959 she taught her first piano student. Carol would go on to teach over 800 students to play and love piano.
Carol had a profound impact on the youth she met throughout her life. She was a leader of the junior high group at Driscoll Blvd Baptist Church. On Sundays you would find her car filled with kids that she would pick up on her way to church. She was a huge supporter of the kids in the Renaissance Drum and Bugle Corp, for which Dave and Mike were members. When the Xiong family came to Spokane in 1978, she embraced them with her love and kindness. There are many fond memories of helping Katoua, Paomee and their children adapt to a new way of life in Spokane. The Fender house was always a welcome place for kids and friends.
In 1982, Carol was diagnosed with MS. Although a devastating blow to her, she fought hard to stay positive and keep up with her daily activities. Carol continued to teach piano even after she started having difficulties walking and using her hands.
In 1982, her granddaughter Erica was born. They have many fond memories together. Carol also has two grandsons, Shane Fender and Jacob Fender. She has one great-granddaughter, Taija Nelms.
In 1989, Carol was chosen as MS Mother of the Year. Her advice for others with MS, "keep going, live life as you can and know that the Lord will take care of you the best that he can. You have to be true to yourself. You can't do everything, but do the best that you can. You cannot look at the negative things in life, but stress the positive things."
Carol spent over 26 years of her life living in care centers. During this time she touched the hearts of those she met. She left a lasting impression with her smile. She was truly one of God's Angels who lived life to the best of her ability. We are most appreciative to Little River Care Center and those who lovingly took care of mom for the past 5 years. A very special thank you goes to her exceptional caregiver and friend, Bekki Snider, whom Carol loved dearly.
Carol is survived by her daughter, Julie Shepard-Hall (Kevin); her sons, David Fender (Susan) and Michael Fender; her granddaughter, Erica Shepard; grandsons, Shane Fender and Jacob Fender; great-granddaughter, Taija Nelms; her sister, Shirley Skeel (Gene) and brother, Duane Skeel (Nancy)m nephew, Kevin Skeel. Her sister-in-law, Nelda Fender-Hunt (Bill), brother-in-law Dan Fender (Geneva), as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
